The boat is in bad shape and the serial numbers are long gone. Do Carleton records exist such that this boat could be searched using the original purchaser's name?

The Carleton records exist but they will only shown the original purchaser's name if they ordered it directly from the factory. It is more likely that the build record will show the name of the dealer who purchased the boat from the factory. The records below show the first and last Carletons that were started in 1929 so it appears that you would only have to look through a few hundred records.
