    The planking isn't quarter sawn and there are knots to work around. And it was supposed to be clear.

    No forcing it. I just planed a little. They lay flat.

    I don't know if I still own it, but at one time I had a copy of a Red Cross book called canoeing. It was soft cover tan book.

    If done correctly, there will be no need to edge-set the plank. That is in fact something to be avoided.
