We just found my parent’s Morris Canoe in the rafters of the garage in Lee, NH

Hi, not sure how to post but I am excited about our find! It has a model number in a rectangle (with rounded corners) with the serial number 8289. It also has a round brass plate that says Folsom Arms Co kayak & canoe. The wood looks really good except for one plank that has a dime sized hole. The canvas is toast, but I found a restorer only 40 minutes from me.

I remember riding in it as a child and I am so excited to bring her back to life!

Welcome and congratulations, the chart at the link below indicates that it probably dates from circa 1911. Canoes with a family connection are always extra special. Good luck with the restoration,

I was thinking the same thing. I don’t mind throwing some money at her to make her what I remember. I’m bringing it to Tom at Azland Traditions next week and I’m hoping he takes the project on. I’ve seen some of his restores and they are stunning.
