video of 4 days solo in Northern Ontario

LOVES Wooden Canoes
I went back to north western Ontario in August and spent 6 days on a trip with a few friends, it was meant to be 10 days but low water conditions cut it short to 6 days. This trip included my wood canvas Chestnut Chum, my friend Rob Haslam;s stripper "Chum" and a couple of plastic canoes. It was a great trip with my Canadian friends (including our own KAT, a really great tripping friend) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWXK357KGDY)
I went back to Marshall Lake which is about 40-50 miles northwest of Nakina, Ontario on a bush road and camped for 4 days solo after the 6 day trip. Wind was a factor for a couple of days, but it was great to be there and I enjoyed the solitude. I really enjoy solo tripping with my Chestnuts, either my Pal or in this video my Chum. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ba5A7u8iEQs

Nice videos! If I can't be out paddling a canoe, I think watching someone paddle a W&C boat is the next best thing?

Robin,

Thanks for posting, looks like a great trip.
And I haven't talked to Rob for years, glad he's doing well.
(Back in the day we were both building Winisk's. He went to solo's and I found W/C.)

Thanks Guys.

Rob Haslam is the real deal. He runs the Geraldton High School Outers Club and runs two canoe trips a year, on crown land. They clear the ports and blowdowns, keep campsites cleared and generally have a great time.
He is a great tripping partner and alot of fun to be around.
Finally, he builds a pretty nice stripper, lots of them.
