Varnish brush recommendations (brand, size and shape)

Matt,

Are you using the Epifanes thinner? I haven't used mine yet, I am keeping tabs on your experiences in case I have similar problems. Glad I started this thread, have gleaned some good info!
 
Epiphanes thinner Jason. I'm not sure that all this trouble is worth it. Think I'll just go back to good old Captain's varnish.

Epiphanes

I was never convinced that Epifanes was worth the extra cost, but I had a can sitting on the shelf that recently ended up on Grandma's Nymph canoe. I didn't thin it at all and it was a joy going on. Next to no runs, drips or errors. I was very pleased with it straight out of the can. I used a foam "brush" too, which I normally don't care for either. Go figure.
