Update on the Fans of the WCHA group in Facebook

You all have been members/contributors/restorers far longer and much more involved than me. I joined to learn about Canvas/wood canoes, all wood canoes, various small boats, the history of it all, and to forge relationships.

I have only met a few of you in person, to my enjoyment.

Seems to be an undercurrent of tension that does not serve us well. I respect the passion of work to get this site and others running and improved.
Gladly purchased the electronic archives of the build records and WCJ to date in hope that it pays it forward.

Not sure what anyone is planning but just wanted to let you know I like how things are, how things have recently changed, and how I can interact, learn from , and feel a slight contribution to this great community of people.

Just to confirm and quash the rumour mill. There are categorically no plans to drop the printed version of the Wooden Canoe Journal. On the contrary, the Board are currently looking at and working on providing a digital electronic version for members in addition to the printed version. Chris Eden and Michael Grace have both done a fantastic job in redesigning, formatting and editing the new version of Wooden Canoe which has received many compliments and their hard work should be applauded.

Wooden Canoe Journal is created by members for members so if you have any interesting features please do submit them along with photos; you never know you could end up in print! 'X2 Ready Reader' Spectacles are available from most pharmacies and should do the job nicely for those who need them!

Assembly is only a month away; see you there.

Cheers,

Nick
