Tiller Connection

Great sail Sunday! Got ashore and found my tiller to rudderhead connection was close to failing.

So....

Since I should consider a new design--how about seeing what's been used before?

I use a push-pull tiller and am not looking to change that, just the connection. I also stand while sailing and it needs to have vertical flexibility as well as lateral.

What have ye?

I have an eyesplice attached at the end of my tiller. In/out, up/down, functions just fine. I had a mechanical connection, a universal mount kinda deal, but the loop over a topped post on the rudder horn works just fine.
