The final paint

There is nothing more satisfying that coming into the shop in the early morning with my cup of coffee to admire the final coat of paint done on a nice canoe the night before.
Sometines that final coat doesn't come out as good as I hoped thru no fault of my own!
I hope the next coat has better luck!

I'm in the process of refinishing a 12' oak dining table. Came out the other day and had a similar critter in the varnish!

The little guy did what his ancestors have been doing for eons... putting all their feet into something sticky and becoming part of the project.

This is how we got the dino DNA... from the bugs in amber, that was once tree-goo (or was that a movie).

I would call it a day by calling it a unique design feature - then charge more.
