LOVES Wooden Canoes
I came across a sponsons canoe (maker unknown) possible OT serial number is 95308. If anyone could run the OT numbers or others that might exist I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Adam

Hi Adam,

Check your personal messages-- Denis looked this one up after calling the seller and figured out you were "the fellow from Tennessee" the seller said had contacted him. Den's email address is dkallery@att.net.

We have two sponson canoes and were only curious about this one.

OT 95308 is a 17 foot CS (common sense, or middle grade) HW model canoe with red Western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, birch decks, thwarts, and seats, sponsons and a keel. It was originally painted dark green and shipped to Gimbel's in Pittsburgh, PA, on April 3, 1928.

I will attach the scan as soon as my computer co-operates with that particular function, but wanted to get this information out to you.

Kathy

Kathryn and Dennis,

Thanks for the info on this canoe. I too was kind of just curious about it. It does appear to be in overall good condition based on the photo I saw of it. Seller is asking a little too much for me at this time.
