Welcome, the Old Town canoe with serial number 228182 is a 17 foot long Chipewyan Tripper model with aluminum inserts in the rails that weighed 76 pounds. It was built in August, 1979. The original exterior color was green. It shipped on October 3rd, 1979 to Newbury, Mass. The back side of this scan shows that it had some exterior dirt marks, scuffs, and orange peel on the outside and rough skin on the inside. It was purchased on August 4th, 1980 and the warranty card was returned from North Andover, Massachusetts.
The one with serial number 165714 is a 20 foot long, CS (Common Sense or middle) grade, Guide model with half ribs and no keel. It was built between November, 1956 and April, 1957. The exterior paint color was G.S. (Guide's Special) green. It shipped on May 13th, 1957 to Rockwood, Maine.
Serial number 133747 is a 20 foot long, GS (Guide Special or utility) grade, Guide model with white Maine cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, ash decks, ash thwarts, ash seats, half ribs, and no keel. It was built between October, 1941 and January, 1942. The exterior paint color was G.S. (Guide's Special) green. It shipped on April 30th, 1942 to Augusta, Maine.
