serial #163541

The rather large hull assigned the number 163541 at the Old Town factory is a 25 foot CS ("Common Sense") grade war canoe, finished between May and June of 1955. It was fitted with a keel, outside stems and a floor rack and sent to Christ Church Camp in Winchendon, MA on June 21, 1955.

If the canoe you're wondering about isn't quite that large or otherwise appears different from the above description, we can try again. I recall finding the record for another war canoe shipped to that location not long ago... and I'll check "Search" for that one when I'm done posting this.

A copy of the scan for this canoe is attached below. Scans of approximately 210,000 records were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. Additional information about the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details.

Thanks so much for the quick response. We used to get a copy of the build records that was printable . I rebuilt this canoe about 10 years ago and would like to give a copy of the build records to the owners who are now trying to sell it. preferably to another camp. the camp in question is being developed. Could I get a copy other than the thumbnail. It is really impossible to read. Steve c
