Curious about Wooden Canoes
Is there anybody coming to the assembly this year who could bring two boards of sassafras lumber for me to purchase for carving paddles? I've wanted to try using it for paddles for a while now as many say it is great for that purpose, but it isn't available locally to me and I'd rather not drive 4 hours one way to get a couple boards to try it out. Looking for two pieces 6' long(183 cm) by about 7" wide(18 cm) by 1.25" thick (3.175 cm). Decent grain with no knots in the section that will become a paddle. Thank you!
