Robertson Canoes

Wooden Canoeist
Have just gotten a closed gunnel Robertson canoe. After looking thru the Forums and past Journals, I have not found much information available on this builder or his canoes. Saw the article about the "Fastest Canoe" and that he was associated with OT in 1902, but not a lot more. Is there a more in-depth article or articles about him or his canoes somewhere??

Thanks - Bud

The information is limited. Six of his catalogs and fliers are available from http://store.wcha.org/The-Historic-...pany-Catalog-Collection-Version-2-CD-ROM.html like the one shown at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/robertsn/catalog.gif for example. The specifications are available from http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/robertsn/specific.jpg and http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/robertsn/factory.gif shows his factory which still stands today. Several people have researched different aspects of his work over the years but I don't believe that anyone has published a comprehensive summary. No serial number records have been found. Does the one shown at http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?13248 look like yours? Do you have a more specific question?
