Rib spacing, on new builds

Breaker of tradition
Hi everybody! it's been awhile...
I'm thinking anout Bobs special. it's much loved and seems to be a highly dsirable boat, although don't particularly love the shape it doesn't have to be what I love. I'm partial to a little bit more narrow boat, 28"-33' beam although I did love my prospector!

so I'm wondering about ribs spacing on traditional boats and newer boats being built with weight as the first consideration.

I've never been obsessed with weight until my recent first time out in 10 years with my ( about 20 yrs old) 15 foot one off design that;I don't remember being so heavy! I've always maintained that (w/c boats are not much heavier than plastic boats. )

Alaskan yellow cedar, will probably be my choice over Sitka spruce. And White cedar planking of course. And... aircraft fabric, there, I said it!

Photos for attention! (people that know me probably are tired of seeing them)

I've recently connected with someone that's very interested in W/C building & restoration, it has me seriously reconsidering a return to the craft & sharing my knowledge and experience, (need to see what develops) before deciding on a build.

I'm also casually looking around for molds and forms, although I know how to build and develop boat canoe forms I'd like rather not and just make adjustments to one that's available.
