PY and OT dinghies

Two dinghies currently in the shop in need of repair are an 8' Penn Yan aerodinghy and a 9' Old Town dinghy. Both will be canvas covered when completed. The Penn Yan is a 1954 model that has had many alterations. The serial number on the OT is not discernible, but based on its construction it was likely built between 1948 and 1950. It had "Christmas tree" written on the inside of the transom in gold leaf. It looked like a factory job, but so far I haven't been able to find the build record.

The garland needed to dry so it seemed appropriate to drape it over the "Christmas Tree" dinghy. The PY and a canoe also helped. Included are images of the PY stem with the serial number and the dinghy interiors. The PY is still wet in spots from stripper, and almost all of the ribs will be replaced.
