Penobscot rowboat scantlings

Bonjour,

A friend wants to build a w/c double-ended rowboat like the Old Town Penobscot.
He's working up a table of offsets from the line drawings of a Rushton Florida, 16' x 42". I was put in charge of finding out the scantlings. I would appreciate a few numbers: rib size and spacing, planking, inner and outer rails and stem. Any other information you think would be helpful... Thanks!

The boat is still in the range of the basic wood and canvas canoe. Use any of the canoe building books and they will give the sizes of all those materials. The standard canoe sizes will make a strong rowing boat but feel free to beef up any of the items to make it stronger. Just remember, stronger will equal heavier. It's always a trade off to what's important to the builder/owner.

I figured I would go with numbers from canoes if I did not get any replies. I will beef up the gunwales to take the strain of the oars and the oarlocks.
