I agree that some numbers are probably missing since the Old Town canoes numbers 4732 and 4788 are both 17 feet long. Number 4738 is 16 feet long but was a fancy AA grade Charles River model with half ribs. The Carleton canoes with these serial numbers were built before 1910 so no records exist for them. The Kennebec numbers skip from 4508 to 5000. Please attach some pictures when you can. Good luck,
It is hard to tell from those pictures but my guess is a mid-teens canoe based on thick thwarts and no obvious signs of diamond headed bolts. There are several in the 4732x range that are 16 feet long. The one with serial number 14732 shipped to Canada but it was 18 feet long. Let us know what you find.
