OT serial number lookup

The Old Town canoe with serial number 90236 is a 15 foot long, AA (or top) grade, T. (Torpedo) End model with red Western cedar planking, open mahogany gunwales, arched mahogany decks (30 inch bow and 24 inch stern), mahogany thwarts, mahogany seats, half ribs, a keel, outside stems, a 31 inch beam, and mahogany rub rails. It was built between March and April, 1926. The original exterior paint was black with a half inch gold leaf stripe edged in white. This design was probably similar to the one shown at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/designs/design42.gif which was know as the design number 42 with different colors. It shipped on April, 17th, 1926 to St. Louis, Missouri. A scan showing this build record can be found below.

This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. Your lifetime membership is much appreciated.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
