Hi, I'm looking for info on a boat with hull id number XTC00992E787 (not certain about the two zeros). Hoping to learn any information about the boat if possible. Thank you!

It is my sad duty to report that the scanned Old Town records stop just over 250,000 in 1984 so no one here can provide more detailed information for your serial number 300992. The hull identification number you provided and the information at https://www.usps.org/national/safety/HIN/HIN.pdf confirms that it was built by the Old Town Canoe Company in December, 1987 for the 1987 model year. I was able to get a picture of the original build record for serial number 300992 and hull identification number XTC00992K788 at the factory yesterday as shown below. It doesn't show a Penobscot model so I will need to see a picture of the hull identification number to get the correct number and build record.
