I can take this, but not much more
Please send a build sheet for OT 27807-18. It's a closed gunwale Guide model if I'm correct. Thanks, Mark

The Old Town with serial number 27807 is an 18 foot long, GS (Guide's Special or utility) grade, IF or Guide's model canoe with red western cedar planking, closed spruce gunwales, maple decks, maple thwarts, and maple seats, and spruce outside finish rails. It was built in July, 1913. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on July 23rd, 1913 to St. Paul, Minnesota. A scan of this build record can be found below.

This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will donate, join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See https://www.woodencanoe.org/about to learn more about the WCHA and https://www.woodencanoe.org/shop to donate or join.

It is possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match the canoe. The 1913 catalog at https://www.woodencanoe.org/_files/ugd/537308_b3c883a050e64735b8068c59f4698bfb.pdf has more details on page 18. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.

Thanks Benson. For the record, this canoe is in very poor shape needing quite a few ribs and planking, outwales, possibly one inwale, rail caps. Canvas is in poor shape. Not worth my time to do the work, but anyone in the area can send me a pm and I can give information to inquire about it's availability.
