Hey Guys,

Could you please provide the OT build record for this S/N?

Thanks, it's for a member who is having trouble accessing/posting a message.

Ot 176037 - 16

Dan,

Thought I could send the build record but having trouble with the new site.

Anyway, #176037 is a 16' model Guide, which was ordered with half ribs and keel. The original color was green and shipped to the University of Kansas, Natural History Museum on May 19, 1966.

Once I figure out the right way to submit the build record, I will send off or maybe Benson will beat me to it.

Thanks,
Ric

The Old Town canoe with serial number 176037 is a 16 foot long, Guide's model with half ribs, a keel and outside stems. It was built between April and May, 1966. The original exterior paint color was G. S. (Guide's Special) green. It shipped on May 19th, 1966 to Lawrence, Kansas.

A scan of this build record can be found by following the link behind the attached thumbnail image below. This scan was created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve this information is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or contribute to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://www.wcha.org/join.html to join.

Dan, I had a similar problem with Netscape version 4.79 on an iMac at work so it may be a bug with vBulletin Version 3.0.3. Tim plans to load the newer version soon.

Ric, the trick with this new version is to be sure that you click on the "Upload" button before your close the attachment window.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.

Benson

Thanks Ric and Benson,

I'll pass the info on to Tim, in case he can't see/down load it.

And this canoe is still at the U of K.
