Would someone please post the build sheet for OT 170404? I would like to tell the owner what he has. This canoe is hanging in a shed east from the DC beltway, and has suffered considerable rot to stem tips, decks, and gunwales & planking on one side, so will be a big job to restore, if that is what he decides to do.

The Old Town canoe with serial number 170404 is a 16 foot long Otca model with a keel and outside stems. It was built between September and October, 1960. The original exterior paint color was probably bright red and it shipped on October 1st, 1960 to Washington, D. C. A scan of this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.

This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well.
