OT 17' OTCA Seat Measurement

Lindemanlax

Canoeing the Northern Neck of Virginia
Hi all -- Does anyone know what the bolt measurement is, from center to center, on the stern seat where it attaches to the gunwales? See the attached for what I'm referring to. This is in reference to a 1974 OTCA 17'. I imagine the specs changed somewhat through the decades, so a measurement from that era (70's or so) would be good. TIA!!!

I don't own a 17 foot long Otca from 1974 but my 17 foot long Molitor from 1982 was made on a modified Otca form so the rear seat dimensions should be close as shown in the picture below. The center to center dimension (diagionally between the bolts along the rail) is about 8 3/4 inches. The outside dimension of the seat (front to back in a straight line parallel to the keel) is about 10 1/8 inches (as indicated in your picture). The build record for this canoe is available at https://forums.wcha.org/attachments/7787/ if that helps. Let me know if this doesn't answer your question or if you need anything else. Thanks,

Benson
