Hi again, Martin--
This fits length-wise, but is an HW, so if your canoe has the decks of an Otca, we have to keep looking.
Old Town 122932 is a 16' AA (top) grade HW model canoe that was completed September 1937-May 1938. It has open mahogany gunwales and mahogany decks, thwarts, and seat frames... also has a keel and floor rack. Original color was bright red, and the canoe was shipped to Elizabeth, NJ, on May 1, 1941. The scan of this record is attached below-- click on it to get a larger image.
This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at
http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you and anyone else reading this will join or renew membership in the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See
http://www.wcha.org/wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and
http://www.wcha.org/join.php to renew.
Before trying this serial number, I also tried 122882 (11.5' dinghy) and 122382 (15' rowboat).
Maybe we have to keep trying, unless the canoe looks like an AA grade HW.
Kathy
