LOVES Wooden Canoes
Hi,

Could someone post the build record of Old Town @120769 18? I have a copy, but it is smudged and hard to read. Thank you.

Hi, Max--

Sorry you had to wait so long for this... now the boat is even older!

Old Town 120769 is an 18 foot Guide Special grade Guide model canoe, constructed between February and June of 1937. It has white Maine cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, and oak decks/seat frames/thwarts. It was fitted with a keel and painted (guess) Guide Special Green... then shipped off to R.C. Price and Co. of Pittsburgh, PA on June 23, 1937.

If you need a new larger, better-grade of scan, I'll attach one to email and cross my fingers. Scans of approximately 210,000 records were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. Additional information about the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details.

Kathy
