Only slightly connected to wooden canoes

I had a query from a museum in Iowa about the Iowa Marine Engine and Launch Works in Bellevue, Iowa. The museum has been given the shop that was the company and is currently trying to inventory and move it. The curator says it looks like the people just left work one day and never came back.

If you have any knowledge of the company or of the machinery that might have been in small shop, could you let me know?
