The Old Town canoe with serial number 177048 is an 11 foot long lightweight model with a keel. It was built between October and December, 1966. The original exterior paint design is shown at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/designs/design37.gif and was known as the design number 37. It shipped on December 9th, 1966 to Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. A scan of this build record can be found below.
This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. Your life membership to the WCHA is much appreciated.
