Old Town Square Stern Sponson

We have what we think is a 16-ft 1952 OT Sponson with a square stern. I'd love to obtain the build record for the boat, for we are thinking it's time to find it a new home. As best we can ascertain, the serial number is 155642. I appreciate the help.

The Old Town with serial number 155642 is a 16 foot long, AA (or top) grade, square stern model with red western cedar planking, open mahogany gunwales, a keel, outside stems, a floor rack, and sponsons. It was built between March, 1951 and September, 1952. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on April 28th, 1954 to Newport, Maine. A scan of this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.

This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/about-the-wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://store.wcha.org/WCHA-New-Membership.html to join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your boat. The classifieds at http://wcha.org/pp-classifieds/ are usually the fastest way to find a good new home for a boat like this. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
