Currently Starting a complete Restoration of the canoe I purchased last May. I had previously requested info and build sheet for this canoe, but lost all data with a computer crash, If still in your files could you resend the info to me? This canoe is in beautiful condition but some ribs need to be replaced and one board. I would love to post pictures but all the ones I have now are to large for here and I don't seem to have any program to adjust the size. Most all are around 1.7 MP and I don't know how to change them.
Now red, the canoe was originally green, is there a paint code I can get so that I can have the original color. Also, There appeared to be a plate or Sticker on the canoe, (oval, three or four inches in size) are there any copies of them available? I hope to have further step by step resto pictures and will adjust my camera so i don't have the file size problem that I have now. Canoe will be done before next warm weather.

The Old Town canoe with serial number 109076 is a 17 foot long, CS (Common Sense or middle) grade, HW (heavy water) model with red western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, oak decks, oak thwarts, oak seats, a keel, and sponsons. It was built between January and July, 1931. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on July 28th, 1931 to Newbury, New Hampshire. The back side of the record indicates that it may have moved to Brooklyn, Colorado by 1981 when there was a previous request for a copy of this build record.

Scans showing both sides of this build record can be found by following the links at the attached thumbnail images below. These scans and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/about-the-wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://store.wcha.org/WCHA-New-Membership.html to join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. A reproduction of the original name plate from the bow deck is available at http://store.wcha.org/Old-Town-Decal-1906-1954.html in the WCHA store. I use the Irfanview image tool from http://www.irfanview.com/ to re-size images. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions. Good luck with the restoration,

Benson

Thank You Benson, The previous owner's (Howard Denalon) address is actually in Brooklyn Ct. I don't know him but the zip code is Brooklyn Ct and I know the Road. I am also from Brooklyn Ct. I purchased it at a local 4-H auction. Mr. Denalon or his family must have donated it for the auction. Not sure if you can change or add anything to the records. I purchased it 5/10/2012 Stephen Slobodian 157 Stetson Rd. Brooklyn Ct 06234.
I also purchased a membership this morning and am looking forward to some great articles and tips. Thanks again, Steve
