Old Town Serial# 209673 - I picked this one up yesterday, in Southern Missouri, to use as a camping boat. It is titled as a 1976, 16 foot, fiberglass. I can see where the Old Town deck badge and Oltonar decals used to be. I hope I can get some replacement decals and maybe some new decks. It looks to have a lot of whitewater miles on it but plenty more to go. Any info would be appreciated if available. Thanks,
Andy

The Old Town canoe with serial number 209673 is a 17 foot long Chipewyan model which was made from Oltonar/ABS plastic and weighed 78 pounds. It was built in September, 1975. The original exterior color was yellow. It shipped on December 28th, 1976 to Highlandville, Missouri. A scan showing this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.

This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/about-the-wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://store.wcha.org/WCHA-New-Membership.html to join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. Your local Old Town Canoe dealer should be able to help with the replacement decks and decals. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.

Benson
