Old town rowing boat

I have an Old town double ended rowing boat. It's serial # is 106316. I believe it is 16 or 17 feet. There is no length stamped in it. I am also wondering about an O.T. canoe serial # 72956 with 16 stamped in it. It is set up for sailing. Any idea what models these are and their years?
Thanks, John McCown

The Old Town with serial number 106316 is a 16 foot long, CS grade, double ended boat with Western red cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, and a keel. It was built between May, 1930 and July, 1932. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on August 9th, 1932 to Branchville, New Jersey.

The Old Town with serial number 72956 is a 16 foot long, CS grade, HW (Heavy Water) model with Western red cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, birch(?) decks, birch(?) trim, and a keel. It was built between July, 1922 and November, 1923. The original exterior paint color was dark red(?). It shipped on January 23rd, 1924 to Philadelphia, Penna. There is no mention of a sailing rig on this build record so that was probably added after it left the factory.

Scans of these build records can be found by following the links behind the thumbnail images attached below. These scans were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. Additional information about the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or contribute to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://www.wcha.org/join.html to join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if these descriptions don't match. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
