Old Town Penobscot info request

I just got a Penobscot 16 ft , looks like s/n xtc24006 1596.
Could I get build date, material / build info ?

The information at http://www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/hin.htm indicates that you have an Old Town from 1996. They stopped keeping paper records around 1994 as shown at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/oldtown_chart.html so there isn't a old style build record for your number. Sorry,

The 1996 Old Town catalog lists the Penobscot 16 as being made out of Oltonar / Royalex. This is an ABS plastic that is described as being a product of Royalite Thermoplastics. Let me know if this doesn't answer your question.
