The scanned records go to just over 250,000 and the paper records stop around 500,000 as shown at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/oldtown_chart.html so they will not help you. Your canoe should have a hull identification number on the starboard stern. The information at http://www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/hin.htm will help you decode a date from this. My records show that number 786865 shipped in 2002 so yours probably was shortly before that.

The Old Town canoe with serial number 175822 is a 17 foot long Otca model with a keel. It was built between March and December, 1966. The original exterior paint color was similar to the image shown at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/designs/design04.gif which was known as design number 4. It was shipped on February 6th, 1967 to Epson, New Hampshire. The back side of this card indicates that an outside rail was replaced on December 20th, 1966.
