The plastic pack baskets from the Old Town Canoe Company were made in the 1970s as a way to test rotational molding techniques. The first tests were with two pie plates and this was an interim step in scaling the processes up to something as big as a canoe or a kayak. I don't know how many were made and am not aware of any available records that would document the total. They were not assigned serial numbers as far as I know. There were quite a few in use holding a variety of things around the old factory. Feel free to reply here if this doesn't answer your question,
