The Old Town canoe with serial number 84915 is a 17 foot long, AA (or top) grade, Otca model with red Western cedar planking, open mahogany gunwales, twenty inch mahogany decks, mahogany thwarts, mahogany seats, a keel, and sponsons. It was built between April, 1924 and June, 1926. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on June 28th, 1926 to Lake George, New York. The back side of this record indicates that it may have moved to Lynnfield, Massachusetts by October, 1977 when there was a previous request for this information. Scans showing both sides of this build record can be found below.
These scans and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you know well. Your lifetime membership is much appreciated.
It is possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match the canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
