The Old Town build record for serial number 154244 shows a 15 foot long lapstrake outboard model boat in AA (or top) grade with ash gunwales, a 54 inch bow deck, a keel, outside stems, a floor rack, and special wide seats and backs. It was built in April, 1950. The original exterior color was white. It shipped on May 10th, 1950 to Seaford, Long Island, New York.
This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/about-the-wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://store.wcha.org/WCHA-New-Membership.html to join.
It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your boat. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
The information at http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?57 has a good summary of how to value an old canoe and some of that information will apply to this boat. However, old boats, motors, and trailers are different. A similar vintage boat and motor was listed at http://www.ebay.com/itm/131816844206 recently for $2400 but got no bids. This lapstrake may be worth a few thousand. Are you buying or selling? Good luck,
