Old Town 114753 is a 16 foot CS grade ("Common Sense") Otca model canoe built between November 1934 and April 1935. It has red Western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, spruce decks, ash thwarts, and ash seat frames. It was fitted with a keel and painted fire red, then shipped to Rochester Stationery Co. in Rochester, NY on May 29, 1935.
You may find some additional, interesting information on the Otca model by using the "Search" function above, and plugging in "Otca"... "Otca deck" or whatever...
Will attempt attachment of the scan of this record below, using my *new and improved* picture program... we shall see if we get a decent size this time! Scans of approximately 210,000 records were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others.
