O. L. Hicks, circa 1915-1923 decked sailing canoe.

David Darwin

Canoeist and sailor
I have in my possession a Canadian-made (Toronto, Ontario) O. L Hicks wide-board-and-batten decked sailing canoe, torpedo styling similar to that of Walter Dean. It bears the number 115. The full story of this canoe is available on my website at ddarwin.ca

I am not sure if you are referring to just these two pictures, or you went to see the gallery of pictures of the canoe, both historical and modern, on my website (http://web.ncf.ca/aa686/photos/canoe/photo.htm).

I have also been provided with other historical photos from the era by the grandson of the canoe's builder and someone from the Walter Dean family. Many WCHA members provided valuable background information and assisted in my research, for which I am greatly thankful.
