Norumbegas on the Parker River

Wooden Canoes are in the Blood
In Memoriam
The Norumbegas descended the Parker River today in Northeastern Massachusetts. Spring has finally sprung along with the elusive Northern Massachusetts Black Fly - Nowhere near as fierce as it's Maine Cousins, but annoying nonetheless.

The portage in the middle of this route separates the men and ladies, from the boys and girls, but local children were amused by the folks parading through the town center with the funny hats! "1,200 yards" later, we finished. I think Steve is gunning for my title for the "Grand Portage Award". He made it look easy.

This is a very Olde portion of Massachusetts and the stone walls, remains of snuff mills, historic houses, and dams accentuated the trip all day.
