Curious about Wooden Canoes
Hello everyone!

This is a 19' wooden canoe that I was looking to identify. Initial thoughts was a Chestnut. Any information or help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance, cp.

CP, I did a 26 foot chestnut a couple of years ago, exact same deck and inwale configuration as yours. Dragonfly has good chestnut info. Dave

ok, senior moment, just turned 50 I knew this would happen. Not a chestnut. I did do one just like it. I'll try and find the info on it.

Dan:

The inwales are definetely notched into the deck. I guess I don't know the answer to whether or not they are notched into the half ribs,

Sorry. Neither the way the deck and inwales come together, nor the presence of half-ribs, are typical features of Chestnut canoes.
