mildewcide ?

I've been reading about mildewcide, I'm still way confused.
I bought untreated canvas from a local builder; I'm recanvassing an Old Town rowboat.

In today's world 7-4-2024, in the US, what are you using for a mildewcide?

The guy I got the canvas from, told me to use something called "Woodlife Classic".

I'm not convinced that something for wood, is going to help with mildew, hence my question.

I get mine from Sherwin=Williams. It's a small bottle and I have them mix it into the filler. I think some latex primers like Kilz premium already have it. But I don't have much experience with kilz. My mentor just said to be sure it is an exterior primer type of latex.
