LOVES Wooden Canoes
Look away, Kathy.
Here's the Ocala, FL Craigslist ad:
http://ocala.craigslist.org/art/3290620033.html
Based on that deck profile and unmistakable inside stem, I'm guessing this is a dismembered Morris. Perhaps a 14 footer based on the description.
Adding insult to injury, it doesn't sound like the seller is going to be particularly flexible on price (quotes $800-$1500 for each half as his reference).
Really - they ought to be tied up and have it stolen right out of that ugly family room while they watch. Not to mention they ran out of steam before even finishing the job. No mention of the second seat, thwarts, serial tag, etc. And it was sandblasted, which raises even more questions.
I've seen similar tragedies reversed on this site, and it looks like it was a very nice canoe (pre-chop). Perhaps one of us will feel it's worth putting back together? If nothing else, maybe we should all barrage the seller by email and make 'em feel awful.
