Roger MacGregor would like to know if anyone has ever heard of a Louis Lovitt Canoe Company from Fredericton, New Brunswick in Canada or if you can identify the decal in the image attached below from a canoe that is currently located in British Columbia. Louis Lovitt was one of the men who went to Fredericton from Old Town as part of the infamous approach by Bill Chestnut in 1904. It appears that Lovitt fell out with the Chestnuts but may have stayed around Fredericton and established his own canoe company. See page 105 and following in Roger's book "When The Chestnut was in Flower" for more information on this topic. You can contact Roger directly at roger.macgregor@ivyleashirtco.com if you don't want to respond here. Thanks,
Benson
