I’m looking for build record for my old town Columbia canoe.
Serial XTC54595M84E
I’m the original owner, it’s red with cane seats.looking for information on the original color and painting tips and ideas.
Thank you, Jeff

The Old Town canoe with hull identification number XTC54595M84E and serial number 254595 was made in December, 1984. The scanned serial number build records stop just over 250000 around 1983 so there isn't much more information readily available. Sorry,

Benson

Thank you Benson, greatly appreciate you answering back. I understand.

Have a great day.

I was able to research the paper records at the factory yesterday and got an image of this build record. The Old Town canoe with hull identification number XTC54595M84E and serial number 254595 is an 18 foot long Columbia model that weighed 69 pounds. It was built in December, 1983. The original exterior color was red. It shipped on December 7th, 1983 to dealer number 608300. We don't currently have enough information to identify this number further. A scan showing this build record can be found below.

This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will donate, join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See https://www.woodencanoe.org/about to learn more about the WCHA and https://www.woodencanoe.org/shop to donate or join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match the canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions and I will try to respond more quickly.

Benson
