In the old style birch bark canoes are
the lashings between the headboard and
outwale ends tied into a simple knot for
decorative purposes or is there more to it
Looks like a simple rap around the current lashing
in the order shown. What it does is it ties the
lashing to the outwale else the wrappings keep sliding
down towards the small end.
