The Kennebec canoe with serial number 13591 is shown on page 179 of volume number two in the Kennebec ledgers. This was assigned to a 16 foot long Kennebec Model. It was planked by Stackhouse on January 3rd, 1920. The canvas covering and first filler coat were applied by Roy on the same day. The second filler coat was applied by Roy on May 8th, 1920. The rails were installed by Baxter on May 29th, 1920. The original color was gray and it shipped to W. A. Roberts in Northville on July 21st, 1920.
The scans of these build records can be found below. These original Kennebec records are reproduced through the courtesy of the Maine State Museum.
The microfilms and scans of these records were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) as you probably know well. I hope that you will renew your membership or contribute to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See https://www.woodencanoe.org/about to learn more about the WCHA and https://www.woodencanoe.org/pricing-plans/join to donate or renew.
It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match the canoe. The link below shows a similar canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
