Kennebec canoe on Ebay

Wooden Canoes are in the Blood
There is an interesting Kennebec canoe currently listed on Ebay. It looks like it was put together with Morris parts - Type A deck, splayed stem etc. The seat frames and thwarts are incorrect replacements, painted interior and it is covered in fiberglass. God knows what condition it is underneath. The starting price seems too high, but what do I know. Just my 2 cents. Item #230177507738

a familiar boat

The first time this canoe was listed on eBay, I was curious for the same reasons you were... here's the discussion:

http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?t=2567&highlight=kennebec+morris

The canoe received bids but didn't go above the reserve last time it was offered... so, here it is again-- with the information I fed back to the seller about the canoe. At least WCHA got a plug in the listing last time!

Price is high because the seller isn't the owner and needs a commission... and because neither seller nor lister know the work and expense involved in canoe restoration.
