Is there information about Old Town Canoe # 185435

I have a sailing canoe # 185435 with all the accessories. I am interested in selling the package but I don't know where to start. Can anyone help?

The Old Town canoe with serial number 185435 is an 18 foot long FG (fiberglass) model. It was built between August and September, 1970. The original exterior gelcoat colors were blue on the deck with yellow on the hull. It shipped on September 17th, 1970 to Titusville, New Jersey. The back side of the record indicates that it had a weight problem and a painted floor. Scans showing both sides of this build record can be found by following the links at the attached thumbnail images below.

These scans and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/about-the-wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://store.wcha.org/WCHA-New-Membership.html to join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. The sail rig is not mentioned on the build record so that was probably added after it left the factory. There is some good information at http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?57 about how to value and sell a wooden canoe so some of that advice will apply to this canoe. Fiberglass canoes usually sell for much less than similar wooden canoes. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
