Info on old wooden canoe

Welcome, the Old Town canoe with serial number 140016 is a 20 foot long Guide model with red western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, ash decks, ash thwarts, ash seats, half ribs, and a keel. It was built between May and July, 1944. The original exterior paint color was G. S. (Guide's Special) green. It shipped on July 24th, 1944 to Dayton, Ohio. A scan of this build record is shown below.

This appears to be a Racine with serial number 1400. I'm not aware of any available serial number records for Racine. The link below has some more details about the company.
