Identifying a canvas covered Peterborough

I have recently come by a wood-canvas Peterborough that was hiding in a barn in Suffolk. It has a brass deck plate with its serial number and length (16ft), which are repeated on one of its stems. I cannot find a model number. Its dimensions are 16 x 33 x 12. Any help identifying the model would be appreciated. The outwales were missing, and the seats appear to be made of ash. The canoe has bolts for 2 thwarts, but only one of these remains.

I will send more pictures in a separate post.

Thanks

Graham

Hi Graham,

The model # is actually 16 or 16S as it also was called. It was introduced in the fall of 1930 as a special grade canoe, built on the same form as the company's "Otonabee" model. It was a lower grade canoe with a much lower price, at the time the Otonabee sold for $82 and the 16S sold for $62.
In 1936 it was renamed "Champlain" with model # 26P.
